Bum Rush the Charts
Note:
On March 22, we ’re asking everyone to spare 99 cents to make a statement. We’re going to make an independent and podsafe artist #1 on iTunes. The effort, called Bum Rush the Charts, is designed to demonstrate to old media that podcasting has reach and more importantly, purchasing power.

The JavaScript knowledge gap
Note:
JavaScript is a paradox of a language. It has nearly universal availability in its target market — client-side Web scripting — and is a major component of “Web 2.0”, but very few people actually write or even really know JavaScript.

AppleTV to be a P2P network device?
Note:
"PBS' Bob Cringely theorizes that since the Apple TV will be an always-on device with a 40GB hard drive, Apple may move to content distribution via a P2P network. The ISPs will incur higher bandwidth locally, possibly lose some subscribers to cable TV, but have fewer costs through the Tier II Internet backbone providers. Bob also expects that Google will be involved with their fiber network and advertising expertise, and my hope is that they'll bundle in YouTube content as well. The article suspects that they won't get around to announcing the full details of this plan until they hit a half million units or more, and that this Apple and Google pairing will become the equivalent of a cable TV provider with almost none of the infrastructure costs. Eventually, he hopes, we'll see a real HD revolution from Apple and Google for this service."

Why Digg Failed
Note:
Why Digg Failed
Assuming you've read all the way through this instead of just jumping to the section with the most outrageous heading, you're probably wondering what the significance of the title "Why Digg Failed" is.
Essentially, my thesis' main thrust is that Digg, although still in its ascendancy, shall irreversibly decline due to failures in its design and implementation, the somewhat suboptimal user base it attracts, and the inability of staff and users to fix the site's flaws. This pending decline could be stalled or probably even reversed if Rose and his staff were willing to remove the facets of the site that make it so poor. However, they are not, and so Digg is liable to collapse in the near future. I believe that this is so likely that we may as well treat Digg as if it is already dead and hence: Why Digg Failed.

Amercian Express Black - The Ultimate Credit Card
Note:
Most credit cards would be fighting tooth and nail to get you to sign up with them if you have superior credit, but there is one credit card that operates a bit differently: The Centurion Black card from American Express (also commonly referred to as the “Black Card” - there is also a Centurion Platinum card which should not be confused) The Black Card is so exclusive that you aren’t even able to apply for it - the only way to get one is by receiving a special invitation from American Express. Currently there are estimated to be less than 10,000 Black Cards in existence worldwide.
