Note: Apple has just released the new trailer for “The Day the Earth Stood Still” remake. “The Day the Earth Stood Still” is 20th Century Fox’s contemporary reinvention of its 1951 classic. Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval.

Note: Collectors paid thousands of pounds (dollars) Saturday for letters from British royalty to a trusted servant, including a note from the late Queen Mother Elizabeth requesting the aide pack bottles of gin and Dubonnet for an outing, "in case it is needed."

Note: Soul diva Amy Winehouse sipped from a glass of red wine and looked a bit unsteady on her feet as she appeared in front of a large audience at the Rock in Rio music festival southeast of Madrid on Friday.

Note: Apple is quietly grooming talent. Pity whoever has to follow Steve Jobs at Apple. Not every great company stumbles into oblivion after the departure of a visionary founder. The problem: Jobs has left once before, and until he came back, it looked like Apple would be one of those companies.

Bandwidth caps could lead to ISPs benefiting from piracy
Note: As Time Warner begins experimenting with bandwidth caps, which are commonplace in other countries, the possibility now exists that ISPs will benefit financially from their customers burning through their monthly limits to keep grabbing P2P content.
